About us
About my store: When I was young, I worked in a high-quality department store that was as much a destination as it was a place to shop for lovely things. The exquisite clothes, displays that evoked a sense of story, elegant in their simplicity, engaging customers, some who became friends. Many decades later, in retirement, I try to create that same sense of quality, of loveliness, of connectedness, that brought such joy in my youth. But this time in miniature from a space in our spare room that became “My Doll Mall.” As a collector, I relish finding unique fashions, setting up displays, photographing the lovely clothes, smiling as I wrap packages, imagining customers opening them. I thought my tiny boutique would be a fun escape for a year or so but here we are seven years later, collector-customers have become friends and not only have I grown as a person, but I have learned so very much from each and every one. The clothes and art work were wrapped in tissue paper, inserted into a box, which was wrapped with plastic and then wrapped with wrapping paper. The items are as described and photographed (with plenty of clear photographs). The colorful dress and underwear are well-constructed and fit my Barbie reproduction doll perfectly. I especially liked the use of velcro instead of snaps. Also, the art work is a cute addition to the set.
