compact clamping for machining
used it to hold an odd shape on a rotary table, perfect for this.

not for washer style spark plugs
2 of 3 found this helpful After looking at the reamer I determined it was designed for taper seat spark plugs only even though it says it is for taper and washer style. It cuts a relief into the top of the hole that is too deep for use with the washer seal type inserts. There is no correct reamer made by this manufacturer to correctly cut the head for the washer style inserts, you have to have a milling machine and a custom ground cutter to properly finish the seat for the top of the insert . The reamer cuts a recess into the head .125 deep, the flange on the top of the insert is only .044 thick. If you follow their instructions and insert the cutter until the black stop collar contacts , the top of the insert will be .080+ below the surface, deeper than a sealing washer and not flat since it has a 45º angle on the reamer right below the stop collar.
Because i am a machinist I was able to work around the design flaw of the reamer and properly install the insert and am satisfied with the quality of the rest of the kit. I would not recommend this for the average mechanic to repair a washer style spark plug thread hole.
