Stunning, Engaging and Essential
While the new Rebuild of Evangelion movies are excellent, any fan of Anime should watch the original series, and this includes the full 26 episode arc plus the "recap" Death and Rebirth movie as well as "The End of Evangelion" which wraps up the series.
While Eva is an Anime and sometimes categorized as a Mecha-Anime, Neon Genesis Evangelion transcends labels and genres with incredible character development, fascinating character/creature designs, a deep and unexpected storyline and absolutely impeccable direction. The composition of certain shots is just breathtaking. For any fan of Anime this is a must have, but for any fan of quality film it's just as essential.

A fantastic terrible time capsule!
I remember getting this when it came out. The original trilogy was my favorite set of games on PS1 and I couldn’t wait for a Next-Gen Spyro! This is where I learned to follow the developer (who went on to create Ratchet and Clank) and not the publisher or IP (which was now rushing an underpaid developer to crank out a game as quick as possible).
You can see what they were going for, namely the idea of all these various kinds of dragon breath (bubble, lightning, ice). However the graphics are rushed (all characters are constantly in a weird animation cycle that’s just dizzying in a bad way), the gameplay is janky (controls aren’t super smooth) and it’s got some technical issues. You also have to realize this is an early PS2 title, so while they finally had analog camera controls, they had (like so many games of the time bizarrely had) reversed horizontal controls that were not adjustable. This takes some getting used to for sure.
If you want to see an odd moment in Spyro’s up and down career, I do recommend trying to get the “Greatest Hits” edition as a few of the nastier bugs were squashed, and the frame rate was (mostly improved) among other small quality-of-life adjustments. This would also be Stewart Copeland’s last turn as composer, which is a sad loss for the series.
Worth it for collectors and those curious about what happens when a young developer is forced to rush a project that has such hype behind it by a greedy publisher without a proper budget. Check Six Studios folded shortly after this release and we can only wonder what they might have done with a reasonable schedule and budget.

Beautiful and fascinating
Both an art book and “world guide”, this book is a beautifully made collection any big fan would want. It is not a strategy guide, but a dive into the universe of Hollow Knight. Presented as a “Wanderer’s Journal” from the game, the book is made with high quality product, and full of gorgeous art and fascinating insights into the in-game universe. Highly recommended.
