Cheapest, yet I would recommend others
I've had 3 different types of Merlin Roller Door Controllers over the years. Whilst I do believe this is better than the original (I suspect will last longer, is lighter), The last one I had was slightly more expensive (5%) yet was more solid, and had about 50% better radio range. Is it the cheapest I could find? Yes. Would I recommend it? No, unless you really need to save that extra $. Cheers

Solid product, yet is mid-way in performance
When you buy a bicycle lock you need to make a decision:
1) Easier and simpler to use; OR
2) Extreme security (although a determined individual can get through anything)
This specific sized product, I find is right in the middle. My recommendation would be to get this product but get the next size down (12mm?) which would make it far easier to unwrap and place around a pole, etc. If you valued extreme security I would go to a larger size than this.
As for OnGuard's mechanism it works fine for me. So yes I would recommend OnGuard Doberman Coil, but I would recommend the size below 15mm (for ease-of-use) or the size above (for extreme security). Cheers
