A stellar set of IEMs, not for bass addicts or electro or dub-steppers.
Great Set of Headphones!! If you are into your acoustic sounds, classical music, jazz and even rock music. These are the pair of IEMs that you need for the right balance of bass, mid tones, and all-round tight sounding IEM that will pick out the most subtle of instruments. These are definitely not for bass addicts, electro listeners, or a Pop in general. It aims for accurate mid-tones, and a balanced amount of bass. For more bass emphasis go for the se535's But at that price I suggest you get Cup-style Pro headphone monitors. Audiotechnica's ATH M50 are great for its price with good bass and mid-tone clarity.

Great upgrade for your 5.5 Gen iPod Video and 7th gen Classic
Great upgrade for your iPod classic 7th Gen 160GB or 5.5 Gen iPod Video. With 240Gb worth of storage, lossless playback with a large library is possible. Especially if majority of your music are ALAC/FLAC formats. However, you do need to be a DIY guru to get this HDD installed. 160GB 7th Gen iPod will require a lot of patience to pry out. and In most cases, you will damage the front panel. Be sure to acquire a new front panel on eBay first before attempting any opening. It is easier to upgrade the 80GB iPod Video 5.5. And with proper precautions, it can be opened without damage to the front panel. An ipod opening tool, and metal and plastic spudgers are a must to open the locking mechanisms of both Pod casing.

Happy with, I think it is the best iPod ever! Even better than 7th Gen.
Simply the best Apple iPod ever made for audiophiles. The support for this thing is great, parts are cheap on eBay. It's one of two model of iPod Classics that is upgradable to 240GB (the other being 7th Gen 160GB) Thanks to its Wolfson DAC. Sound is warmer than the new 7th iPod classics (120/160GB), so I recommend this for acoustic, jazz, rock and classical enthusiasts. As a result, electro, pop or indietronic feels weaker. This can be mitigated by turning EQ to 'Electronic' setting. 7th Gen iPod Classics are still better at electro with its clear and distinct sounds. I listened to a bit Biggy, and classic hip-hip/rap sound awesome through these. Battery Life is slightly shorter than iPod Classic at 160GB. But, with anything that lasts for 20 hours, this is negligible. It can still pump up a full day of continuous listening on IEMs. Battery Life will shorten if you: a) drive a headphone cup style monitor without an amp. b) and/or if you crank your VOL to max. Hope this helps you decide if you prefer the 7th Gen or 5th Gen. I sport a Shure SE420 IEM, Creative 4.1 4400. TESTED WITH: Skrillex - Scary Monsters Nice Spirits (Electro/Dubstep), Jack Johnson - Times Like these (Acoustic Guitars), Stillness of the mind by Abel Korzeniowski (Classical), Daysleepers - Summer Dreamer (Bass Guitars), Two Door Cinema Club - Eat That Up It's Good For You (Stratocasters, and Pop), Swimming With Dolphins – Sleep To Dream (Pop/ Electro), Owl City – Deer in the headlights (Electro/Pop).
