DEAR WORLD, an under-appreciated musical, deserves a wider audience
I have always loved this musical, with Angela Lansbury playing the Madwoman of Chaillot. This Jerry Herman gem has never received the same love as his more popular hits MAME and HELLO DOLLY, but I like it much better than those. Angela, who was about 30 years younger than the character she played, was magnificent in this musical and received a Tony nomination.
I wanted to get a copy of this CD for a friend, in honor of Angela Lansbury who had just died. This CD arrived on time (early even) and in pristine condition. The sender even included a set of ear buds! So I can listen to it on my portable CD player, which I still have.
