Horrible
First of all, it's made of really cheap (fragile) plastic. The batteries are inside a cover that requires six screws to open, ridiculous. The lamp assembly can be tilted but...the "latch" to keep it in place doesn't work so it keeps falling forward onto your forehead. In the trash it went.

GOOD for AMATEUR use
The unit does what it is supposed to do - the type of plastic it's made of it's not particularly strong and I would NOT suggest you just throw it around in your bag or be careless with it. It is made for amateur use in a more controlled (read safe) shooting situation. With proper care it should last long enough. I know, at that price what can one expect? I expected LESS, so I am giving this a 4 star because it deserves it.

Sturdy and well made
Very nice boom for situation in which one with a counter weight is not desirable. The lock is metal and the teeth allow a positive grip making sure slipping is impossible. Very well made. Quick to adjust.
Depending on the type of microphone attached to it, one must take care of the balance of course. Since it doesn't have a counter weight the stand must be accordingly setup. I will buy more.
