Very good Cockney UK comedy, wonderful accents and 1970s set and costumes.
Del Boy is a lovable Cockney character, always on the make, and runs Trotter's Independent Traders (TITs) from the back of his three wheeled Robin van, always barely ahead of the police, but usually triped up by his own kind. A young brother and an older uncle are useful foils and sometimes antagonists. Young Rodney is much too straight laced and proper, but in these episodes he finally finds a lasting love interest, though just what she sees in him is unclear. Del is tolerant, if he can make a quid or two along the way. This is very much a London period comedy, but it is a faithful mirror to its time and place. It has worn well.

Pot Luck cooking, simpler and better.
We were rather diappointed in the previous edition, so found this one and thought we'd give it a try. It's a neat paperback with some good reciepts, especially in the meatloaf and "lightly fried" vegitable catagories. Fortunately it sicks to its fairly narrow description of what to thinkof when you want to bring a dish for an infomal gathering. Remembering that these days, it's great to be able to mix all the ingredents in the baking AND serving dish. There are quite a few reciepts that embody this idea, and others that can b adapted. All in all, a considerable improvement on the previous edition. Dr. PDWA Bartlett
