An Effective Wire Stripper
This wire stripper works fine for gauges 18 to 28. It is obviously NOT intended to strip house wiring gauges of 16 and larger, but rather hookup wire and other light duty types of wire, both solid and stranded. I tested mine with some DT-1 stranded audio cable as well as 24 to 28 gauge solid hookup wire, and some other stranded lighter gauge hookup wire up to 18 gauge, though I did not try to strip AC zip cord for my testing. Like most of these kinds of strippers, it may take three tries to strip the insulation, but that is generally due to the nature of the insulation itself, and not the stripper's mechanism.
In the past,I used a $50 Paladin stripper until it died recently. Though larger, this stripper is basically as good as the Paladin, at about 1/10 the cost. And the Paladin sometimes required three attempts as well.
It sure beats stripping insulation with an x-acto knife! So I recommend this stripper for lighter gauges up to 18 in either solid or stranded wire.

A Swell mp3 player with Stereo FM
Having lost my old Creative player, I badly needed a replacement. After some study, the SanDisk came out the winner. I had been looking at Sony mp3 players, but found out that the battery in newer Sony models cannot be purchased, and therefore installed by me. I found replacement batteries available here on ebay.
Having an electronics background, and having replaced the battery in the wife's Creative player, I realized that this would limit the useful life of the player if I could not replace it. Sending the unit to Sony for a simple battery replacement is ridiculous.
Another major advantage with the SanDisk is the slot for a micro SD card. I now have 40gb of storage with the addition of the 32gb micro SD. I found a silicone case which does not have an opening for the SD slot, so I'll never lose the micro SD card.
Sensitivity of the radio is very good, considering that the antenna is the headset cord. Audio performance is very good, and a 5 band equalizer can be set to a custom setting. I am using Creative 630 earbuds. The player is capable of random play, and makes use of both internal memory and the SD card for this mode.
I purchased this model because the function buttons are slightly larger than on the newer SanDisk players, which I believe is better when using the silicone case.
This merchant sent me a SanDisk Clip+ which was in perfect condition, with no scratches or sign of wear, suggesting a factory or authorized service center refit. I am very happy with this purchase; even used it on my walk today. If this merchant still has some inventory, then don't hesitate to purchase the SanDisk Clip+ 8gb player.

An Excellent and Reliable USB 2.0 Charging Hub
This is a very good USB 2.0 bc1.2 charging hub. I have purchased several in the last few years, and they have all proven to be reliable, and are still in service.
A few years ago we purchased HP Stream7 tablet PC's. They were very finicky with respect to charging which caused me to acquire bc1.2 hubs and better quality USB cables. While many USB hubs feature a DC jack for external power, there are only two hubs in my experience which actually deliver meaningful external power; an Orico hub which is no longer available, and this Plugable hub, which fortunately still is.
I recently built a streaming audio array using a Creative SBX and an optical to coax converter around an ASUS TA101 netbook. Other USB hubs with external DC were still draining the ASUS battery. Only after I deployed this Plugable hub instead did power drain from the ASUS cease. This hub really does supply the power to the other USB devices connected to it.
If you have a requirement for more power than the standard 100ma which ordinary hubs provide, then purchase one of these Plugable hubs, which are capable of delivering the maximum 500ma per jack as specified in USB 2.0 standard.
If the blue LED is too bright, you can mask it with a piece of colored electrical tape.
