DIET FOR A NEW AMERICA
Diet for a new America was 1 of the 8 books recommended to read in "Conversations with God" by Neale Donald Walsh which is in itself an AMAZING life altering book. The title of the book did not catch my attention at all..in fact it just sounded like another diet book. It just happened to be 1 I found on EBAY first for a reasonable price. I then found the mention of slaughter houses and knew I had to read it as I had been toying with the idea of giving up meat as I can't stand it that some being has to die so I can live. The book started with some heart wrenching real animal stories so you could plainly see how real and loving all of Gods creatures really are. I knew of some of the stuff that goes on in slaughter houses but was shocked at the horrid conditions and what close quarteres really were. The people that run these places should be held on criminal charges for abuse and severe intentional neglect. I now see clearly that buying meat says that I am approving their methods of treatment as my dollar is supporting their cause. PERIOD. How the meat industry affects the whole economy and the water supply etc...opened my eyes fully. I immediately shared the book with my twin sister and we both agreed to give up meat...finish the stuff in the freezer and no more. Just like that. I CLOSED THE BOOK AND CRIED A MOST HEART WRENCHING CRY THAT SHOOK MY BODY WITH GRIEF FOR ALL THE ANIMALS WHO HAD SUFFERED SO I COULD HAVE A PLEASURE THAT LASTED FOR JUST A MOMENT IN MY MOUTH. I WANTED TO VOMIT..I AM SO SORRY IF I HAD UNINTENTIONALLY CAUSED ANOTHER BEING TO SUFFER OUT OF IGNORANCE OF THE FACTS THAT ARE HIDDEN FROM THE PUBLIC. IF YOU WERE IN A GROCERY STORE BUYING MEAT BUT YOU HAD TO SEE A VIDEO OR PHOTO OF WHAT REALLY GOES ON....I PROMISE YOU...YOUD NEVER EAT MEAT AGAIN....EVER EVER EVER.....I PRAY THE REST OF THE WORLD WAKES UP SOON...BEFORE ITS TOO LATE FOR THE ANIMALS AND MAN AND PLANET EARTH.

An I nconvenient Truth
I loved everything about this documentary. I have so much respect for Al Gore as an envirinmentalist and as a man. I wish more men were like Al Gore, forgetting the big macho, ego stuff and political games and just getting right down to business. He has a very important message ....and hes doing it all by himself country by country, person by person and now the dvd. He shouldn't have to carry this burden alone. As he states, there are things all of us can do every day to reduce carbon dioxide. We don't have to stop living but we do need to be more conscious of every thing we do. The law of cause and effect. Every thing effects everything. Every movie, every book every person you meet in your life effects you in a positive or negative way. Television needs to air more educational information like this dvd because all the violence and sex is not raising the level of class or morality in this country. We need people to remember how to care about their fellow man and his needs too and to remember how to care about the planet that gives us our daily bread. Food doesnt grow in grocery stores. It magically grows in the soil that man with his pesticides and chemicals and pollution is quickly destroying all the natural processes of nature. Man wanting quick solutions to end pest problems, deadly diseases and just wanting things so instantly has driven us into destruction of our planet in record time. Its only taken 100 years since the invention of the automobile and the great industrial age to really mess up our planet. Now were in a rush to find another planet thats liveable so we can trash that 1 too or at least send all our trash there. We all need to wake up and share the responsibility for the mess we are all in. There are species disappearing every year at an alarming rate...and yet man is the species that needs to be extinct in order for the other animals and insects and planet to survive. Or we can wake up and turn it all around NOW. What will we do ?????

Bringing down the house
It was an exciting adventure story . I was just curious how these guys outwitted the casino. Were they geniuses or just figured out a system and made it work for them. I used to think casinos were fun but as Ive aged Ive seen them as money making businesses that lure the public in with lights and pornography and false hope. It truly is sin city. Where did people lose their way in life. This book just confirms my beliefs I have about casinos. What people will do for money is scary and stupid. Yes they did it and got away with it...but the stress of always getting caught and the mistrust among the players on the team..was it worth it all in the end....read the book ..you decide..
