this book came to my aid as a novice sailor
excellent in-depth publication for new and seasoned sailors, covers all aspects of sailing. The diagrams are professionally laid out and coincide with the write-up and are easily followed. If you intend on sailing this book is a must have in your nautical library. Its a little light on modern electronics, I believe the newest version covers that aspect of sailing more so than this publication but when your electronics fail you'll be looking hard for this book
