A forgotten classic!
Steve Coogans Tony Ferrino character had a short run in the 90's and as far as I know was'nt a huge success.
Over time this release of the Tony Ferrino album has been forgotten about by many including die hard Coogan fans.
The album is a collection of cabaret style comedy spoof songs including titles such as Other mens wives and Papa Bendi. Its all mildly amusing but a little samey until you reach the track called Man Stallion. This track is comedy genius, its a story told of a man having an affair with a gypsy and being punished by turning into the man stallion. I can best describe this as a cabaret/prog tale, its really cleverly written and hillarious from the start. I consider this song a hidden gem of british comedy and anyone who calls themselves a Coogan fan should hear it as soon as possible.
