Major bummer

I can't tell if the one i got is defective or if kindles are just this difficult to navigate. The power menu comes up apparently randomly and no matter what I choose it reboots. It's also much worse physical condition than I expected, lots of filth in the cracks, the charging port was gunked up, and the screen is pretty badly scratched. The included charger simply doesn't work.
