      Arrived 24 hours after posting, exactly as described and very well packed: Spirit level [which protruded and would otherwise have bent in transit] was unscrewed and taped to underside and the pan [this is an electronic scale] was taped down to minimise risk to the delicate flexures inside.

      Exactly as described, quick dispatch and did manage to post the item even if it was considered bulky for a reasonable price. Unfortunently UPS managed to damage the parcel during shipping which was a bummer since the ordered part got damaged a little bit as well. No fault of the seller of course, but could possibly have packed with a bit more padding material to mitigate this from happening.

      Lars, thanks for your honest feedback. I'm glad the vice is up and running with no major problems. I honestly thought it was packaged very comprehensively, but I had not anticipated the gorillas employed by UPS. In the future, international shipments will be packed with even more care.

    Record number 24 fitters vice 5.25" jaws
    Older record vices, made and cast in Sheffield, England are the best money can buy. The casting process and materials used means that they are virtually unbreakable. Buy quality and buy once; these will last a lifetime. The only bit which ever wears out is the jaws, which are available at reasonable cost. Beware any vices with "Irwin Record" markings, as these are Chinese and nothing like as durable.
