Great upgrade from S3, features are great
Each phone I have bought so far has always been a step up from the phone I had previously. I upgraded from my Galaxy S3 to the S5 when my S3's charging port stopped accepting incoming power.
The phone is great. I love having an IR sensor to control my TV, private mode to hide my private info (you have to scan my fingerprint to gain access to these files), and just a general responsiveness and speed that I didn't get with my S3. Plus, the phone is essentially waterproof which is kind of freeing. I never have to worry about rain or sweat or anything, and I've even taken it into the shower with me once (not directly under the water) without issue.
NOTE: I did have some problems activating the phone on Virgin Mobile (first would not activate, and then it would work but no 4G signal, which turned out to be a somewhat common issue). Customer service was a mess and after googling it and troubleshooting with Customer service for 10 days, I ended up telling VM what to do in order to make the phone work for me. They had incorrectly inputted my SIM card number and the last few digits needed to be corrected.
