Hidden Speaker Design Icon
I had passed on purchasing an iPod Hi-Fi years ago. Having finally found one in good condition on eBay I now know what I was missing. This system sounds great and gets very loud. Ideal if you have some older IPods laying around idle, specifically the iPod nano 1st and 2nd generation or the iPod 5th generation as these have a "speakers" menu that appears when you dock them to added extra sound controls to the Hi-Fi. Don't forget that it also has an Aux in port on the rear that takes a standard 3.5 mm connector or optical digital cable with Mini-Toslink Connector. This allows you to hook up non dock connector devices and optical digital cables, such as from previous Gen 2 and Gen 3 Apple TVs. One other thing to consider is picking up a CoolStream Duo Bluetooth adapter, which can be placed on the iPod Hi-Fi and powered by the dock, allowing you to use all of your modern Bluetooth devices to stream your favorite music through the Hi-Fi. Great system and an iconic design.
