This is simply the best Octave pedal available. All others pale next to it.
This is one of my favorite pedals. I have some very boutique, very coveted pedals in my board and studio. But this is the one I covet most. While I don't use the Octaves all the time, but it does have some additional features which make it much more usable than I thought it would be when I purchased it. It has a detune effect which makes it good for a chorus effect. The effects portion can be bypassed totally so if you don't like them they wont be in the chain. I like that it can do a really good Organ sound which is spot on for the organ at the church I play at. I have the Digitech Whammy, and the Boss OC3 Super Octave. This one beats them all any day of the week. It is true bypass, and has 8 programmable settings. It is much more expensive 324.00 as opposed to the 200.00 (Whammy) and 130.00 (OC3) but if you want an octave that can be used with chords, that can go down 2 and plus 2 simultaneously, then you want this one. I thought my other octaves would be the last I would buy when I got them, but i know this one will be the last. Well constructed, shouldn't break. I have many electro harmonix pedals and they are all working well after a long time of use. The sound is the most natural of the octaves I've owned or used. If you turn down the original dry signal, you can do bass sounds easily. you can use it with other effects and even get those great Jimi sounds with a nice fuzz box. If you can afford this one buy it now. If you can't just know that eventually you will be buying this if you want the best possible octave sounds. It would be nice if it had shifting capabilities (via a footcontroller) but I honestly don't miss it. The only thing in the octaves range that it does not do is the harmonizing aspect (+ or - steps from the original signal) but if you incorporated that it would probably mess the whole thing up. Works great, sounds great
