Uncommonly good
I am biased because I enjoy Alan Bennett's writing, but even if he is not your favourite author, this tiny masterpiece will make you smile. I have given it to many friends and all have enjoyed it. Such an unusual plot and written with affection, style and a twinkle in the eye.

Pedestal mat
I could not find a single red pedestal mat without bathmat in my local shops. This was inexpensive, a reasonable price and came quite quickly. I was surprised to find a Tesco label still attached to it!

Natural art at its best
This is a wonderful book of large colour photographs of Andy Goldsworthy's stone constructions. Quite breathtaking.
