Transparent, clean, with an unparalleled feature set
1 of 1 found this helpful The RME ADI-2 FS deserves all the accolades that receives. The sound is clean, the capabilities of the dock are unique, and for headphone use it works very well with IEMs or harder to drive headphones (I listen with a Sennheiser HD8xx). The manuals a bit thick, but RME has videos on YouTube that do a good job of touring all the futures and giving you a visual overview of how to set up the unit. I own several other DACs with much more minimalist user interface which is my preference, but you have to love that RME went all in with their display and information that is presented while listening to music.
