Crossing bands... why?
As others have stated, this product works well when you cross the rubber bands. With a shotgun mic like the sennheiser ME67, this is a must. It will literally fall out if you don't, or wobble so much you will get contact with the metal frame, effectively killing the take. The problem with crossing the bands is that they are flat. It's not the easiest thing to do, and if you like to break down your gear between shoots (I do), this is annoying. Not the highest end shock mount, but for the price, I feel like this is kind of a bad product design.
