Great device for those that want something with a little more than the basics
This device is promoted with a range of 100m. While that may be, and I haven't tested it over 300m at night, my thought is that it would only be under ideal conditions. But it is very good indeed with functionality to work out perimeters, area and volume. Accurate within stated tolerance (approx +/-1.5mm). It is well made and comes with a soft fabric case.

Well made and handy to have.
It appears to be well made and fit for purpose. While I have not had the opportunity to use it there is no apparent reason it will not function. For filters and the like that are very tightly held there is always the possibility the strap may slip under load.

Very useful, very handy
The device is very good and looks professional quality to me. I suspect it may over read 4 C based on casual observation measuring boiling water in an uncontrolled test. It was not at all expensive. So I purchased two. The protector tube is a very basic length of generic plastic with open ends and the device fits into a second very light weight plastic tube designed for the purpose. The packaging not in keeping with the device but its functional enough.
