End / Door Switch
I am using this on a Murphy Bed to make sure the lights are turned off when the bed is stowed upright. This switch has closed contacts (contacts "make") when the plunger is not compressed (bed down). When the plunger is compressed, the contacts are opened (contacts "break") and the lighting circuit is disconnected from the power source.
The switch comes with what appears to be a cast aluminum housing with a 1/2-inch threaded female connection on the back of it, suitable for an EMT set screw connector or Romex clamp. The housing is very substantial and heavy-duty, and has flanges with four flat-head sheet metal screws for connecting it to your structure.
The switch itself is attached to the housing with two short flat-head machine screws. There are two approx 6" long wires crimped to the switch, which can be connected to your house wires inside the housing with wire nuts or crimp connectors.
