Got rid of the yellow in my hair!

My sister-in-law attempted to create a balayage/ombre style in my hair, but failed to lift enough color. The result was a very yellow gold brassy "blonde" that she said looked fine. I didn't like it, so I used this purple shampoo at her recommendation and it did get rid of the yellow. I ended up dying the bleached areas with a lightest ash blonde and it looks even better.
