Excellent saw
This is a great quality saw as you would expect from Makita. It’s well made with very high quality cast aluminum base plate and controls. Equipped with 3AH battery and the saw blade provided it easily cuts an inch thick dry oak and walnut boards.
However I had two issues with the saw:
First - it came well wrapped in plastic and not in a cardboard box despite of my communication with FFX who assured me it’s boxes item. It was not, most likely it was part of a bigger set which was sold out piece by piece.
Second - I should have been more careful before purchase and should have noticed the saw is intended for left hand users. This was never mentioned in the description. When pushed with right hand, the sawdust covers all your arm and face as the dust nozzle points straight to your body.
Bottom line - it’s an excellent and well performing saw however it requires a vac or some sort of workaround to fix the Sawdust nozzle issue.
