Laugh-out-loud for me, in parts. Also, I seem to recall Flannery O'Connor somewhat sheepishly citing Poe's humorous writings as an influence.

Not what it seems to be.
Was dismayed by the santa pin-up girl picture on the inside "liner notes". Kind of made the whole concept of an old-fashioned Christmas album seem pretty insincere and cynical. Do we really need to have a sexy Christmas? It reminds me of the SCTV skit with Catherine O'Hara which spoofed that very idea. Bob Dylan was supposed to be a Christian at one time and maybe isn't one anymore. Maybe he's not the one deciding on the album design. Disappointing.

Used book in good shape by noted English author of rather bleak stories
The book is in quite good shape. As for the content, I've read some of the stories in years past and am interested in re-reading them to see how they come across today. One of the stories I remember is definitely an effective and somewhat disquieting horror story.
