XiaoMi Mi Box S is Useless due to overheating
4 of 10 found this helpful This highly hyped TV box is a piece of junk, like many other cheap Chinese Andriod TV boxes. Yes, like all of them, easy to set up and easy to use, but useless. It overheats very quickly and becomes unresponsive in minutes and hangs there for good. To confirm that it was not due to slow internet traffic, I compare it side-by-side with a Google phone playing the same movie from the same source (Disney +), using the same wifi network, and casting to the same TV (different HDMI inputs). It was not the internet or router, but the overheated box. After cooling down for about 10 minutes, it works again for a few minutes. I would stay away from this kind of function packed tiny boxes.
