Stunning from beginning to end
3 of 3 found this helpful I think this is even better than Night Watch. The story and characters have evolved further and progress the story with real interest. The imagination shown in the camera work and the visuals is absolutely superb. The movie turns into an almost dream like state which had me glued to the screen. A wonderful film. The only trouble is that I doubt if we will now ever see the third episode in the trilogy that was supposed to be Dusk Watch. It's a shame because these films are truly genius.

A classic performance from ELP
Having never had the chance to see ELP in the 70's, (they always seemed to be in the USA) I finally got around to catching them live when they briefly reformed in the 90's.
I saw this tour in Birmingham and this is pretty much the same set that they did then. Their musicianship is as brilliant as it ever was. Keith Emerson's keyboard skills are just awesome, Greg Lake's voice has a lovely mellow sound to it, and his often overlooked bass and guitar work is the perfect accompaniment to the frenzied sounds of the synths. But all of this is solidly backed by the pounding beat of Carl Palmer's amazing drumming virtuosity. The three of them together in perfect harmony has to be heard to be believed.
This DVD delivers on the aural pleasure, but its also great to be able to see close up the speed and agility of the instrument playing. The quality and editing is top notch, which is unlike most of the ELP material already available as it all seems to be from the 70's and isn't DVD quality. This however is much better.
Exciting, uplifting and thoroughly entertaining, this is ELP on top form. It's probably not as 'over the top' as when they were at their peak, but I'd recommend it to any fan of their music...trust me, you won't be disappointed.
