Does what I wanted.
I want a way to play my iTunes on an old Sony mini-component stereo system that has a 3.5 audio in jack. This lets me do so and use my iPhone as a remote control. It also extends my WIFi network and improves reception in the front rooms of my house. (My modem and primary base station are in the back.)

Now I’m a believer...
1 of 2 found this helpful Have most Apple products (except Apple TV), but was indifferent to the watch, mainly for aesthetic reasons, though I also felt no need to duplicate my iPhone’s functions on my wrist. And then there was the outrageous price... My eBay GPS-only Apple Watch 3 was reasonably priced and this model is sleek enough to suit my taste. But the most crucial factors for me were the recent demise of my less-than-one-year-old Fitbit Charge 2 and Apple’s suite of multi-device health apps. I’m a disabled senior with several health conditions that need monitoring. I also need to keep track of my physical activity and be able to send reports to my doctors. This watch makes all this quite easy AND includes a face with numbers large enough for me to read on the go. What’s not to like?
