Great Controller When it Works, but Good Luck Getting Parts If It Fails...
1 of 1 found this helpful Bought this one used, so I'm not sure how old it is or how many hours are on it, but it appeared to be in great shape. Used it for two weeks with no issue, but then it stopped working; after turning it on, it would light up and the fan would just start to spin, and then shuts down.
Given its possible age, I'd give it a higher rating, but the control board is $130+ bucks if you can find one at all, and the power board (which I think is the actual failure point in this case) is unavailable. Such being the case, if you buy one and it fails, there's a good chance you have yourself a 400+ dollar paperweight. Shame the parts support isn't there, as these are great controllers when they work properly. I need a pure sinewave controller for my old PS1 locomotives, and there just isn't much newer stuff out there that offers that, and this was THE top choice in that case. Now I'm just refurbing a classic Lionel ZW 275 workhorse that I'll have to add bell control to. Oh, well.
