Pertinent today. Much to learn and think about.
What Claudio Alcorso has to say about pre war Italy, the rise of Fascism, the Australian Secret Service and his internment during WW2 is very pertinent today. I loved the description of a Rome of only 900,000 people and variety of skilled workers. Alcorso lived in Australia from 1938 and met and mixed with movers and shakers who transformed the Australia culturally - much of that progress is being undone as xenophobia re emerges.
