Best brake pads

I've tried all the major makes and these are up there with the very best and yet at a fraction of the price ! Admittedly these pads havn't been tested in the rain yet for the simple reason that we havn't had any here for weeks but in the dry they pull you up very quickly indeed. I should point out that most of the time I use my rear brake: in my opinion, these are a bit too powerful for the front. Who needs disc brakes? I've done only a few hundred miles with them so far so I don't know how long they last. I'm sure some people would criticise the lack of " modulation" as these pads bite without hesitation but for me, the fingers on levers are in charge of modulation and you very soon adapt your pull to the nature of a set of pads. An added bonus is that these pads are made in England. I really find it incredible that Fibrax pads are not seen for sale in more shops. SwissStop and Koolstop Salmon are similar in performance but a lot more more expensive.

Nothing fancy but does the essentials

Easy to use without even having read the instructions. Pity it can't be used off the mains but perhaps the batteries will last a long time anyway. I can't see what additional functions anyone could want. I have a kettle for making tea.
