Excellent speakers, don't hesistate in buying them.
2 of 2 found this helpful I first noticed Harman/ Kardons soundsticks when they were attached to the iMac in my local Comet. So I picked up a second hand pair on eBay that a few weeks later. Here's what I think of them.
The first obvious point of these speakers is the look, I can see why they attached to the iMac, Stylish isn't the word I want to describe about these things as there more than that. It's more like they belong in a museum for contemporary art. Its one of those products you don't want to get rid of as they just look good.
The sound quality is superb, very crisp, and clear when you turn the volume up. Which in most of the the speakers I've had in the past (admittedly cheap ones) is something I haven't experienced before. The bass is suitable for the size of speakers but not boy-racer over the top. I have always had a bad habit of whacking the base on full regardless of what i'm listening too. But even when these are turned full it doesn't go overboard. The music is still clear and it doesn't sound ridiculous.
At the end of the day, reviews (however bad) wont cut it for these products. Go out there and compare them to whatever you can. There was a set of Bose speakers next to the Harman/Kardons for a good £50 extra, and these blew them away. Yes.
