Good all around lens!
It's a great lens for any situation. If you like to take a hike without to carry different lenses, there you are in the right lens! I bought it and thought that I might not need it, because I own Sigma ex 10-20 DC, Canon 18-55 is stm and canon 75-300 is usm. Okay for portrait close 10-20 ex is better and 75-300 for distances close up is better than 18-200, but for sure I can give the 18-55 kit lens, it's up to you how many lenses you like to carry on :) Really great for walk around lens, close up, portrait, landscapes!
