Exact replacement, easier install than I had hoped.

I started this by attempting to free up my old binding steering cable. I thought it would be more expensive and more work to replace, or I would not have bothered. One pin at the steering tiller on the outdrive, one nut at the tube that anchors the outer casing to the transom, and four screws at the rack & pinion under the dash, and out it comes. It even includes a new rack.

Ran into trouble last weekend working on...

Ran into trouble last weekend working on the brakes. Needed 3/16 SAE brake line with 5/16 x 24 thread tubing nuts. The kid behind the counter at NAPA handed me a 3/16 inverted flare line with 10 x 1.00 nuts. By the time I figured out why I was having difficulty threading the nut into the brake line I was 10 miles away and NAPA was closed. I was able to replace the nuts from my own stock, but I had to hunt. These stainless nuts are intended to improve my stock and with stainless nuts I may be able to get them apart without the use of Vice Grips.

These preowned hinges w/gas struts a great value!

Hinges on the wife's Jetta were binding and needless to say that was not popular. Found these used ones including the gas struts for a very attractive price and purchased them. Installed them on Sunday and trunk closes much better.
