1980's japes from an alternative comics doyen
Anything from the Jimbo universe by Gary Panter is gold in my book.
This early work, although published later than much of the Jimbo canon, is no exception.
See young Jimbo make a trip to the Jack -in-the-McTaco for Moka cola and a burger, Bob War get in over his head with Salari Fuzz, Fuzz and Henry Webb misbehaving in McTaco's, the doughty Mari Bokis keeping shop against the odds, and Uncle Garcia, Tree man, and Inflatable Doll also getting in on the action.
All bookended by Kokomo's quest for a Jeep, chocolate, and an airplane of his own.

A good option for a rainy afternoon
A droll mystery by, for, and about, comic book nerds, by that nerd in excelsis himself, Seth. Lots of cracking inside baseball humour in his later sketchbook style.
