GARFIELD AND FRIENDS - Volume 4 (DVD, 2005, 3 disc-set) w/slipcover

Bought this for my niece and nephew for Christmas
The Snow Wade episodes have LGBT references in it for a cartoon that aired way back in the mid 90s! Wade, dressed in drag and as an actor, kisses Orson. It's gross, unChristian, amoral, and no kids or anyone else should be watching that! There is also a ghost cartoon where diablo is a name of one of the characters mentioned; kids might not know what that means, but it--in case you were ignorant to it--is Spanish for satan! These 2 episodes are skippable with your remote and there are so many. Other than that, I found myself laughing so hard inside that I couldn't contain my laughter around my niece and nephew! It made me remember why I loved the show so much as a kid!

Top Notch 3D Graphics - Very Little Substance - A Bust!
First off, I bought a Gamecube new back in 2003 and from the game pics on the box, I certainly thought that I was getting the best system available. Boy, was I wrong! In fact, you'll find that the 3D graphics were as advertised. In comparison, the 3D graphics might even be a little better than the original XBOX(if you don't believe me, then play NBA Courtside 2002 or NFL2K3 on Gamecube) and therefore beat out PS2 and Dreamcast in this category. However, that's absolutely where it ends. Nothing else about it is anywhere close to the other systems. I rate the Gameplay of this system a 1 or 2 on an ebay scale of 5. When you're playing a Gamecube game for the first time, other than the super 3D graphics, you'll definitely feel as though they were just putting out games quickly and letting the chips fall where they may, as if they didn't care about their customers. The controllers are the worst of any system in my day, going back 20 plus years. Look at the controller and try to imagine the obstacle course of buttons that you'll have when trying to play a 2D game; these games are fast paced and the buttons have to be pushed fast and sequentially; that is a huge problem with these controllers. 2D style games are the best games ever and you'll have a hard time even finding a viable one on the Gamecube anyway. 90% or more of their 2D games target the VSmile generation, unlike all the other modern systems, which have a wide selection of both 2D and 3D games for any age. I felt dissapointed when I found out that they'd invested so little in their 2D Gaming Department. The game selection is also horrible, as you might have guessed! When I bought this system, my eyes lit up when I thought of the potential. This potential went unrealized. You wouldn't think that a system with such graphics could fail; Gamecube did! After all, along with N64, they ruined Mario! Yet, 3D Sonic on Dreamcast excelled! All of the modern systems circa 1999, are way better than the Gamecube; no bones about it! Alot of potential, but a bust! Steer clear of this dreaded cube! I only wish I had knew about the short comings of this system when I bought it; if you get a Gamecube, you'll need a 2D arcade system for playing those 2D fighters in additional to it and you'll find out that the 3D games that they offer weren't put together well from a software standpoint. Games that I recommend for it are: EA Sports games and NFL2K series, NBA Courtside 2002 have some of the best 3D graphics of any game on any of the older systems(the faces are unbelievable and it rivals even newer systems on the market), but otherwise this game has the feeling of a game that was put together too quickly. The system has quite a few Sonic games, but I've heard that it is better on Dreamcast and I own one. There's also a Crazy Taxi, which I've heard rave reviews on, but never played it due to fact that it doesn't seem too appealing to me.

All the Marios On 1 Game - 'Nuff Said! Plus Rare Bonus!
Super Mario might simply have the distiction of being the greatest collection of games ever and when you add Lost Levels, it only adds to this mystique; sure, Sonic Adventures on a much better system has surpassed it, but you can't blame Super Mario for that. It still offers some key advantages over Sonic Adventures: it offers a variety of great games and it's a collectors gold mine(you'll play it and remember back in the day). Super Mario 1 is updated in this package. I remember playing the unique Super Mario 2 and having hours of fun throwing projectiles at the bad guys. Super Mario 2 is way better than the original in SMA. Super Mario 3 is the best of this series and it is included as well. It also, has a bonus game: Lost Levels that is a contrast from the others and offers a serious, serious challenge. It is one game and yet it is a collection of unforgettable games, so you no longer have to carry around 3 games on an obsolete and inferior system or you don't even have to look for Lost Levels, which is so rare that you'll never find it anyway. This collection ranks in my top 10 and might be higher on some of your lists. No matter whether you played these then or 30 years from now, you'll still love them, probably as much as you did then, as they will not fade with time! It allows saving, which is a benefit for games like Mario and which the NES could not do. Favorite games: 1. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2(Dreamcast) 2. Samurai Showdown 2(Arcade and Neo Geo versions) 3. Sonic Adventures (Dreamcast) 4. Mortal Kombat Trilogy or Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3(I haven't played this game in such a long time that I have forgotten the exact name; the one with all the characters on PS1) 5. Mike Tyson Punchout(the one with Mike in it) 6. Killer Instinct(SNES) 7. Ms. PacMan(Arcade, SNES & later) 8. Super Mario Allstars(SNES)/Super Mario 3(NES) 9. Super Mario World 10. Sonic & Knuckles(Sega) 11. Cruis'n USA(Arcade) 12. Tetris(SNES & later) 13. Yoshi(NES) 14. NFL 2K series(Dreamcast) 15. Super Street Fighter(SNES) 16. Final Fight series(SNES) 17. The Simpsons Arcade Game(Arcade, playing Marge or Bart) 18. Turtles in Time(SNES) 19. Turtles Arcade(Classic Arcade) 20. Marvel Super Heroes(Arcade) 21. Xmen: Children of the Atom(Arcade) 22. Marvel Vs. Capcom(PS1 or Dreamcast) 23. Fzero series(SNES, excellent games, but fitting it in amongst these mega smashes is kind of hard) Why did the Marvel megahits make it so low on my list? Well, they are some of greatest games, but the first game on my list envelops all 3 of these Marvel hits and it is light years above all 3. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 sort of makes me forget about the others. You'll undoubtedly love all the games on this list!
