Cheap and reliable.
These Hitachi Deskstar 1tb drives seem to be the cheapest 1tb solution on the internet, I have had one of these variants since 2009 it has worked great without a hickup and has been formated several times, worked so good, I bought 2 more. I installed them in a raid 0 configuration and that too is working very well. for being as quiet as these are I think these would make for some very low cost server space. These drives have been very reliable, and will probably continue to keep chuggin for another 20 years, and 1tb seems to still be a large capacity at this present time so these drives have a good value and are a good bargain.
