2 of 2 found this helpful The part was great, but there was a key inserted which compressed the tensioner enabling an easier fitting , however this was my first time doing a cam belt and did not know what the key was for it obviously had to be removed after fitting....but just had to be sure ,realising any mistakes were not acceptable, I rang Gates, and spoke to a man who admitted he did not know what it was for and acknowledged there was no reference on the otherwise good instruction sheet.
Having got help from a local gearbox refurb' friend all went well,the car started 1st time and all continues fine. PLEASE TAKE NOTE GATES

Absolutely brilliant...just what I have been looking for ages, driving an English car in France with speed cameras and police checks becoming more evident, knowing exactly what speed your doing and in large clear digits is great .... I bought a second one , the price is good as well
