Ground breaking debut album
Worn my vinyl copy out so replaced on CD.Bought in 1991 - this album was an excellent debut.Like nothing I’d heard before.Great band.

Epic story and artwork.
I read the “Battle “comic in the 1980’s and Charley’s War was the stand out story.(Along with Johnny Red).Now my son is 11 years old and is learning about the Great War I thought it would be a good idea to revisit the story.So have recently purchased all 10 volumes and we have just started volume 1.Joe Colquhoun’s artwork masterfully portrays the horror and squalid conditions in the trenches.This epic story by Pat Mills makes clear that there is no glory.Volume 10 ending with a newspaper headline announcing Adolf Hitler as the new chancellor of Germany leaves the reader with a sense of the pointlessness of it all.On a final note I would definitely recommend “Charley’s War” to anyone who has been to see the remake of “All quiet on the Western Front “.
