New 3.5 PATA IDE to SATA Hard HDD Optical Drive Converter Adapter

Works well

I'm using this to enable a SATA HDD to be connected to a PATA IDE motherboard connection in a HiFi music server. The server runs 24/7 and i was concerned that the electronics in this device might not like such extended use, but so far (after several months' use) no problems at all. During installation of the converter, as it has exposed soldered joints, I was careful to ensure no shorting of the joints could occur against the metal edge of the HDD, so used a small amount of insulating tape to provide protection. With careful installation this is a very useful device. I haven't used it to connect an older PATA IDE drive to a SATA motherboard (which it states it can do), so I can't comment on how well that works, but certainly connecting a new SATA HDD to an older motherboard IDE connection works very well. I don't know what data transfer speeds it actually achieves, but a SATA HDD connected using it is certainly as fast as a native PATA IDE connection in real-world use.

Ideal for big dogs who like to roam

This is a well made and robust product that is worth the money. We have a large dog who likes to wander about and investigate when we take him for a walk, and this lead gives him plenty of range to explore. The retraction mechanism works well and there's no slack lead at any time. It also doesn't get tangled or kinked, so there's no messing about trying to untangle it. Highly recommended if you have a large or strong dog.

Still sounding great after 20 years

This is a 20 year old product and still sounds great and works well. I have changed the belts and performed some basic maintenance and the unit is working well with smooth carousel movements and disc changes. The display on mine is still bright and evenly lit, so no complaints there. These machines are a great way to rediscover your old CD collection.
