All Beatles Without Frilly Bits
The original album Yellow Submarine was released early in 1969 after an animated film was done in 1968 based on music by the Beatles who were the most widely known pop rock group in the late sixties. The film is cute and the soundtrack album is great but the second side of the record was orchestrations to support the animation and not original Beatles songs. Side one has six originals including the title track sung by Ringo Starr, which originally was included on their epic 1966 album Revolver. The Yellow Submarine Songtrack was assembled and released by Apple thirty years later in 1999. This has fifteen tracks, all Beatles, all the time. In addition to the six songs on the original album, they add more of the songs from that era omitted earlier including "Think for yourself", "Love you to" and several more classics including "Lucy in the sky with diamonds" and "Nowhere man". If you are a fan of the Beatles and want a complete collection of songs from Yellow Submarine without the orchestral extras, this album is for you.
