Abstract and unsusual
I never heard of Pina Bausch unitl i got this movie.She was the original creator of the Werpertal theater.He creative choreography in theater dancing is arty, and odd.her and Filmmaker Wim Wenders were planning to make this .She died and he got discouraged,but the dancers insisted that the movie be made for her tribute.He decide to shoot i in 3d to create and more intimacy of the film with the audience.Pina's favorite number from Cafe Muller is so strange and haunting,based on her favorite cafe.One of the older dancers demonstrate his tap dancing skill with an old jazz tune and scats in the park ,while a doge barks around him .If the dog did something else it would of been an embarrassment to the dancer. Just about all the dance numbers are very surreal.Shot at the theater,In the country .at a park,behind an industrial complex, in a subway train.Worth buying.
