Harness Head + Chest Strap Mount Accessories for GoPro Hero 4 3+ 3 2 1 Camera
28 December 2016
Good value, but not appropriate for Session cameras
Good price, reasonably quick shipping, quality seems fine. But here is an important note: the chest mount is not appropriate for Hero Session cameras unless you acquire an extension to move the rotation point further out. Because the Session cameras are cube shaped, the standard mount only rotates about 45 degrees before interference prevents it from rotating any further. I went snowboarding with the chest harness, but could only shoot at my feet because the Session was pointed down so much.

Bright light, dubious batteries, but no regrets
Batteries very light are labelled "5000 mAh", which is almost certainly overstated. The well-known battery brands max out at 2700-3000 mAh, and cost a lot more than I paid for this entire headlamp + 2 batteries + shipping deal. So it's not a shock to get cheaped-out on the batteries. Despite the battery deception, I like the headlamp. It is really bright, and the ability to focus allows you to put a spotlight on places 100 yards (or meters :^) down the road or a super bright, wide circle close to you. I took it jogging at night, and it's definitely heavier than a traditional headlamp that takes the 3 AAA batteries, but the battery pack at the back reasonably balanced the lamp/lens at the front, and it was pretty stable with the bouncing up and down. I was able to go 3 continuous hours on the high setting before the light started to fade quickly. Box said up to 20 hours, but definitely not with these batteries and not on the high setting. The elastic bands seem on the small side. I have it adjusted out to the biggest size to fit over my head, and I really had to stretch the band to make it fit over my climbing helmet. One odd thing is that the batteries are in parallel, not in series like most electronics. But that means it will run on just one battery. I found that after charging that the batteries were low if I left them in the lamp for a few days. So I plan to keep batteries out of the lamp and out of the charger when not in use. All in all, I got a good deal for the price I paid. I would take this lamp around the neighborhood, and possibly on an overnight, but probably not on an expedition unless I upgraded the batteries.
