Good out of the box thinking on a very important issue facing us all.
This is an excellent book exploring what should be a simple concept: rather than ship food half way around the world to where the people are, grow the food locally. With the increasing world population and the ever increasing destruction of the environment in a quest for at least temporary farm land, the current methods of agriculture are unsustainable. This book gives a good overview of methods that can be used to build high rise, concentrated food growing operations in or near our urban areas. I bought the book after seeing news articles on projects running in Korea, Dubai and of all places, Milwaukee. Every where the name Dickson Despommier came up as the leading force in this movement. I would have rated this a 4½ star if I could, while compelling, it gets a bit a repetitive and really begs for more details and less concepts. I found it a good read, and a good inspiration.

A good book to add to your library of instrument building books
As the title says, a Guide for the Amateur. Has a good flow of steps to making your first violin. For the most part there are good illustrations. One area I really liked better than any other Violin making book, are the alternate instructions for making ribs. Very good and eliminates many of the roadblocks for most makers who haven't bent wood before. One minor area that could have been better were the instructions for making the scroll on the neck. The author uses a similar technique to the one in the now out of print Harry S. Wake book. The illustrations in Wake's book are better, but between the two, the technique is very clear, and easier to follow and execute than others who suggest carving only with chisels and gouges. While this is for an amateur instrument maker, the author does assume you have more than basic woodworking/tool using experience. He also doesn't waste a lot of space on finishing like some other books I can think of. Over all I would rate it a solid 4½ stars, it got 4 due to the limitations of this review process.

Good tool, great price, performance without breaking your wallet.
This is a very nice, well thought out drill. I have gotten it as a part of the One+ system, and have been adding more to my collection. I like being able to use either the Ni-Cad or the Lithium batteries in any of the tools. Run time per charge on the Ni-Cads is no better/worse than my Dewalt or other cordless tools. It is lighter than my Dewalt drills, and seems to be better balanced. I got this drill along with the impact driver, which I am growing to love as much or more than the drill. It is great with socket head or square drive screws. I also have the 5.5 inch circular saw, which I think is nicer to use than my Dewalt, it is a little lighter, and much quieter in use. Some people claim Ryobi isn't as good as Dewalt or Milwaukee, but I have some of all of them, and I have broken Milwaukee and Dewalt tools, so none of the are indestructable if you abuse them. Be nice to the tool and it works for you. Drop it off the roof, and it doesn't. Simple. This drill is as good as any other I have, and costs much less. I recommend them to my friends and give them to family members as gifts when the occasion is right. What more can I say?
