It is a little bit tricky to install. The old one lasted over 50 years. I am glad this is available because my Kirby works like new now. Notes: The metal shaft in the kit is REVERSE threads. To remove and install it the motor shaft must be held from spinning. To do it, lower the drive wheels assembly a little and remove the back side belt drive pully. The shaft has a flat spot that an adjustable wrench holds nicely. The new part exactly matched the old one.
