Degrades picture quality.
I have tried three different brands of HDMI to S-Video converters, one slightly more expensive than this one and another slightly cheaper. The more expensive one was OK but died after about a year. The converter sold here badly degraded the video quality. It creates severe video cross hatching making the picture unwatchable. The cheaper converter that I have since purchased works the best out of the three converters I have used, despite its cheaper cable adaptor appearance.
