Great upgrade for a Squier

I have a Squier Standard stratocaster that the tuners were not holding. These hold tune perfectly. The only thing I had to do was buy some hole adapters to fit the smaller style shafts(6mm) to the modern day style holes(10mm) You can get these relatively easy. The spacing was perfect and the split shaft design is a much better way to string up your guitar.

My item needed several fixes.

Frets needed leveled and polished. Truss rod was too tight. Fingerboard was very dry. Tuners needed lubed. Straight out of box is not playable. After it was worked on, then noticed significant noise when plugged in. Several finish runs found as well. Overall a very poorly made item that will need lots of work. For the same money I should have bought a Squier.

Good for initial rough cutting of brand new nut.

These files are not very accurate on there measurement thickness. They do not have a rounded edge to them and are flat. With the V taper on the blade. They are good for removing a lot of material from the nut quickly but still have to use alternative means to get the bottom of the groove you cut rounded to the right size of the strings. I found using the welding tip cleaners work great for the final filing that is needed after using these files.
