Hayward EC65A D.E. Complete Pool Filter

A simple to use, reliable product that leaves my pool sparkling clear.

I have used this filter for my in-ground pool for many years. When assembled and plumbed correctly with PVC (NOT METAL) connectors, this DE filter is very effective and requires little maintenance, 10 lbs of inexpensive DE is more than enough for a season. I usually purge and replace the DE twice in a season because there are many white pines around the pool which release a lot of pollen and other small organic matter. I disassemble and thoroughly hose the interior clean at end of season, let it air dry and put away for the winter.

Good quality lead for medium to large dogs

OEM gasket does the job but not necessarily the best option.

This is the OEM cork gasket for Cub Cadet lawn tractor and other Kohler small engines. As such it does it's job but likely to fail in a few years same as the original. Permatex type gasket maker may be a more reliable replacement. I learned this after my purchase and used a small layer Permatex with the cork gasket - overly-tightened bolts at original install may have warped the aluminum valve cover and prevent a good seal for the replacement.
