No better than a 10 year old Asus RT-AC68U which is cheaper

Purchased to replace my 10 year old ASUS RT-AC68U which was starting to play up. After setting the new router up I did a factory reset of the old router and set it up on the same broadband with different WiFi handle. Speed test shows the new router to be only slightly faster than the old which was a cheaper price 10 years ago. I run approximately 20 devices in my home and thought purchasing this new router would help improve throughput of all WiFi connected devices, but was extremely disappointed.
