Scholarly, but understandable to the average adult reader.
The book came to me in as new shape. The scholarship of Ms. Beard is demonstrated on every page. If you want to do a deep dive into learning about the history of Rome, this book is a must read!

Excellent Resource for students of Hebrew and Greek
The authors provided an excellent resource for those who want to get as close to the original Word as possible! Now we can not only have a Hebrew Old Testament and Greek New Testament, we can check out where they got the justification for any particular reading! Absolutely phenomenal!
